THE DECLARATION OF LOS ANGELES

THE ARROGANCE OF POWER -- THE BEGINNING OF FASCISM

“In his first days in office in 1953, President Dwight D. Eisenhower determined that all aliens in the United States who had entered illegally would go back where they came from. And he ordered them all deported. The program carried the title of Operation Wetback. Imagine the reaction of the Washington establishment if, tomorrow, George W. Bush announced to the nation he was launching Operation Wetback II.”

December 18, 2006 As you may know the Los Angeles City Council recently ratified the DECLARATION OF LOS ANGELES and its RECITALS (see below). KABC has developed a response “Declaration of Concerned American Citizens” (see below) to be signed and delivered to the Los Angeles City Council on Wednesday morning. (see below).

I have underlined every piece of misinformation and lie contained in this DECLARATION which I believe is designed to inflame Hispanic and uninformed citizens. I have also, in bold red type, added my own comments.

Those of us that recognize the damage being done by unchecked illegal immigration, (not by legal immigration as the list of endorsers of this Declaration want you to believe), such as the crime rate, overcrowding and stress on our public services, support the Minutemen and their efforts to draw attention to this problem. We are in favor of immigration reform and we detest any form of extremism such as socialism, Communism, neo-Nazism, fascism, or any group attempting to undermine the Constitution of the United States.

We believe in strong borders and property rights and that the funds and resources of all local, state, and federal government are the property of it’s citizens. We believe that government is instituted to protect only American citizens. We also recognize that the government and private citizens of the United States are the most generous, compassionate and noble people in the history of the world.

RECITALS

Security precautions are necessary to protect the integrity of the United States border and the well-being of the American people.  The United States has every right as a sovereign nation to control its border and immigration policies.  However, immigration policy must also take into consideration and strive to protect civil and human rights of immigrants. (even at the expense of the safety of our citizens and nation?)

In response to the alleged threat that undocumented persons pose to American society, unauthorized vigilante (definition: someone who punishes lawbreakers personally and illegally rather than relying on legal authorities) civilian groups have formed to put pressure on the U.S. government.

These groups, which have conducted their own unauthorized patrols along the United States-Mexico border, use anti- (illegal) immigrant and xenophobic rhetoric to exploit mainstream fears of unchecked immigration, especially Latino immigration. (none of us are racist. This statement is a rhetorical device used by the Anti-American Neo-Socialist extremists listed below that are funding the socialist transformation of America.)

Anti- (illegal) immigration rhetoric also is used to promote a message of intolerance of undocumented persons and of Latinos in general. (none of us are racist. This statement is a rhetorical device used by the Anti-American Neo-Socialist extremists listed below that are funding the socialist transformation of America.)

Vigilante civilian patrol groups are usually armed during their border patrols, creating the potential for violence and creating an atmosphere of fear and lawlessness. (The Minutemen arm themselves as a result of the massive amount illegal drug smuggling and Human Sex Trafficking and the billions of dollars these illegal activities generate.)

Members of hate groups, such as neo-Nazi and white supremacist groups, have expressed support for civilian patrol and anti-immigration groups, through participation in patrols, protests and rallies. (The Minutemen cannot control these hate groups in terms of holding their own protests and rallies. However, the patriotic Pro-American Minutemen will not tolerate participation of any of these hate groups in their organization. Each member of the Minutemen is screened with interviews, background checks and meticulous training before they can participate in patrols. Note: The neo-nazis and white supremacists marched and held protests against Bush and the Iraq war as well.)

Although there is a continued risk of terrorists and criminals misusing the immigration system to illegally enter the United States, a safe and secure border cannot be achieved through civilian vigilantism. (If it wasn’t for the efforts of the Minutemen, Congress and the President would not have acted on the border issue as much as they have, which is hardly enough.)

Coordinated efforts by federal, state and local law enforcement officials are necessary to monitor the activities of civilian border patrols and extremist groups in order to maintain safety and public order and to protect human and civil rights. Most federal, state and local law enforcement officials are enthusiastic and in favor of the assistance the Minutemen organization provides. They recognize an appreciative decrease in the numbers of illegal aliens streaming across our boarders. Furthermore, federal, state and local law enforcement officials have been kept informed of all current and future plans and activities of the Minutemen organization. There has never been an attempt to hide from federal, state and local law enforcement officials or game the system.

Anti-(illegal) immigration and anti-Latino rhetoric ignores the valuable economic and cultural contributions these groups have made to American society for hundreds of years.
The Minutemen and all their supporters love the Latino culture and welcome them as new citizens of our Country. The groups that have signed and endorsed this document believe that Illegal-Immigrants (not legal immigrants) are providing the following valuable economic and cultural contributions to our society:

1.    the human suffering caused by billions of dollars of Cocaine and Heroin smuggling,

2.    the human suffering caused by the huge Human Sex Trafficking operations,

3.    the human suffering caused by the massive identity theft operations,

4.    the human suffering caused by inner-city Latino gangs whose membership initiation requires the rape of woman, or if you’re a woman, sex with all male members of the gang, to become a member,

5.    the human suffering caused by the overburdened police force looking for the illegal immigrants that occupy 90% of murderer warrants  in Los Angeles County,

6.    the human suffering caused by the 300,000 illegals that are living in garages in Los Angeles County,

7.    the human suffering caused by the millions that are living ten to an apartment in Los Angeles County,

8.    the human suffering caused by the swelling homelessness population,

9.    the human suffering caused by the lower wages and loss of jobs that is created by employers knowingly hiring illegal-immigrants just because they will take a lower wage. (21st Century Slavery)

10. the abject poverty of the majority of Mexico and their corrupt government.

DECLARATION OF LOS ANGELES

Based on the foregoing recitals, the Pacific Southwest Region of the Anti-Defamation League, together with the undersigned concerned members of the Los Angeles community, call upon local, state and federal government officials to do the following, when crafting immigration policy which affects the US-Mexico border:

1.    Recognize and protect the basic human rights of immigrants. We agree and we also acknowledge that the laws of the United States already account for this. However, this should be directed to Mexico not the United States.

2.    Support human rights and the humane treatment of undocumented persons as part of the tradition of fighting intolerance and bias. We agree and we also acknowledge that the laws of the United States already account for this. However, this should be directed to Mexico not the United States.

3.    Recognize and publicly denounce xenophobia and anti-immigrant bias as having no place in United States’ immigration policy. We agree and we also acknowledge that the laws of the United States already account for this. However, this should be directed to Mexico not the United States.

4.    Monitor and respond to extremist groups who advocate bigotry or racism, armed citizen response, vigilantism in any form, violence or any other tactic that subverts the democratic process. We agree and we also acknowledge that the laws of the United States already account for this.

5.    Hold to the highest standards of human rights and dignity all law enforcement and judicial processes that relate to deportation, detention and immigration status. We agree and we also acknowledge that the laws of the United States already account for this. However, this should be directed to Mexico not the United States.

6.    Recognize the need for a safe and secure United States. We agree and we also acknowledge that the laws of the United States already account for this.

 CALL TO ACTION by KABC

Declaration of Concerned American Citizens

TalkRadio 790 KABC has created a Declaration of Concerned American Citizens. We hope you will consider pledging your support for the rights of all American Citizens and for the right to protect that which so many have fought and died for.

Declaration of Concerned American Citizens

A. Citizens of the United States have the right to speak out about the negative impact of illegal aliens unlawfully entering America.

B. Voicing concerns about what may happen to America if illegal aliens continue to cross the American border, does not make you a racist.

C. Expecting elected U.S. Officials to protect America’s borders, economy and culture is reasonable.

D. Citizens have the right to inform authorities when witnessing illegal border crossing and the expectation that these same authorities will uphold the law of the land.

Based on the foregoing recitals, 790 KABC, calls upon all U.S. citizens, local and state officials to do the following:

1. Treat every person, whether a citizen or an illegal alien, humanely.

2. Recognize that opposing illegal aliens entering the United States does not make one intolerant, racist or a xenophobe.

3. Monitor and report to authorities those persons or groups who would seek to prevent through intimidation those U.S. Citizens who are watching the U.S. border for illegal crossings.

4. Hold to the highest standards of dignity and justice all law enforcement officials, judges and politicians who work in areas relating to deportation, detention and immigration.

5. Recognize the need for a safe and secure United States.

If you agree with this Declaration, pledge your support here  with your name and / or comments to members of the Los Angeles City Council!
